Are you our future Senior Project Development Manager working within the Business Development team in Stockholm, Sweden?

 

What you will be doing

You will be the front of the company and will have the dedication to create a pipeline of integrated energy projects that use Azelio’s unique long-duration storage solution. The goal is to drive sustainable growth through boosting sales and forging strong client and partner relationships.

You will develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction by creating a pipeline of integrated energy projects in the C&I target markets, with focus on LATAM, USA, Australia and MENA regions, where the key segments are mining, hotel resorts, agriculture, oil and gas, resilience and off-grid communities. The aim of your work is to develop and implement comprehensive business models together with financial and technical partners as well as design, negotiate and implement project development company and holdings as well as special purpose vehicles (SPV) together with other shareholders in our global target markets. You position includes activities such as:

  • Elaborate Azelio´s project development strategy and business models that ensure adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
  • Analyze and adapt the strategy to the particularities and conditions of the different target markets like MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latam or North America.
  • Identify financial and technical partners on global and on regional level for co-development activities setting up joint project development companies and SPVs, partnerships with EPC, suppliers etc.
  • Scout, screen and identify new business ideas/opportunities and viable income streams
  • Define and build up our own project development department/functionalities/team
  • Lead and develop Azelio´s project development team
  • Lead the development and evaluation of new opportunities/projects as well as identify and negotiate the acquisition of brownfield energy storage projects with adequate partners
  • Liaise with the finance team for setting-up project development companies with partners
  • Manage the project portfolio and SPVs during development and operation in collaboration with our finance department
  • Ensure all project stakeholders are correctly managed, managing direct relationships where required and at multiple levels with key stakeholders
  • Work with staff of involved technical departments throughout the organization and ensure that they are on board and understand the need for change and what is required of them
  • Work with the Marketing Department to coordinate the communication and marketing strategies in the different target markets
  • Seek ways of improving the way the business operates
  • Attend and speak at relevant seminars, conferences, and events
  • Assist in setting department objectives, plan, budgeting and follow up.
  • Project Pipeline Management; carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management
  • Plan promotion campaigns for your area

 

What we are looking for

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Senior Project Development Manager with the following background and capabilities:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, business administration or equivalent
  • Experience working as a project development manager in the energy sector for at least 7 years
  • Proficiency in English. It is a plus if you also master Spanish, French and/or Arabic
  • Experience in project finance related to energy projects
  • A solid understanding of the renewable energy market segments in agriculture, mining, resorts or off-grid communities, as well as technology knowledge (solar, wind storage, hybrid systems)
  • Experience from at least one of Azelio’s target markets in MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latam, Australia and North America is important
  • Ability to work independently, combined with strong teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to build comprehensive reports, presentations and models
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, which is needed for communicating with a wide range of people, both internally and externally
  • Strong social and networking skills
  • Strong time management and planning skills

You have to be prepared to travel extensively from time to time – we believe more than 70 days abroad will be required.
